There are few things that I look forward to more than weekend brunch. Having meaningful conversations and creating joyful, lasting memories with my daughters and my friends around a lovingly and intentionally set table is what I cherish most. As I lean into my community, creating a retreat from the world where we can gather and make more of those memories is essential.

Hosting in the winter can be just as enjoyable and dymanic as hosting in the warmer months. I find that the chilly temperatures and occasionally overcast skies offer an opportunity for one to tap into their imagination and craft dreamy and whimsical experiences for their guests.

Lay the foundation for your table with premium linens. Here, I started with an embroidered stripe linen blend tablecloth and introduced an additional layer of texture using Europen Flax Linen napkins in Pine Green which is the color palette that anchors the table. TL:DR - use any table covering that you love and have on hand that compliments your color scheme and incorporate a second textile, such as linen napkins or chargers to set the tone of the table.

I fell in love with this beautiful, white bone china set crafted by Silvana Azzi Heras of House of Heras during a local sourcing trip a few months ago.  The detailed, tropical line design on this collection was visually stunning, making each set an ideal way to add whimsy and character to the table setting. Alternatively, you can use any classic white dinnerware you have on hand to create the visual appeal and dreaminess you're crafting.

I aimed to capture the clean, playful and whimsical essence of winter by combining winter white peonies and country roses with different winter green stems to add depth to the table. I used several small round vases and created mini bouquets for each to adorn the table. Any assortment of winter white and green stems would work just as effectively.

I completed the table setting with elegant and timeless silver flatware. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with classic silverware as it automatically elevates any dining experience you're creating - whatever that looks like for you.
